What do most people cook outdoors? Hamburgers,
hot dogs, steaks.... How about Rack of Lamb, Seafood Quiche, Venison Torte,
Coconut Macaroon and Black Forest Ribbon Cakes? Forget the gas and charcoal,
turn out gourmet recipes cooked in the great outdoors over open-fire, and
start a new tradition!
Viewers can expect to be entertained and tantalized by the tasty meals
prepared by hosts Pamela Alford and Larry Wiseheart each week on Campfire
Cafe. Campfire Cafe is a half-hour weekly cooking show now in its tenth
season on the air. The format of the show features cooking a variety of
gourmet recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert outdoors over
an open campfire. An avid campfire cook for over 25 years, host Pamela
Alford shares tips and techniques that viewers find both entertaining and
educational. Co-host Larry Wiseheart represents the novice outdoor cook
addressing issues on the show that viewers watching may experience.
Using traditional open-fire cooking methods as a family-oriented form
of outdoor recreation appeals to a wide audience of men, women and children.
Gourmet recipes prepared on the show with step-by-step instructions demonstrate
how easy and uncomplicated open-fire cooking really is, empowering viewers
to give this lost art a try.
Campfire Cafe episodes are filmed in real-time, outdoors while actually
camping on location. Recipes are actually prepared and cooked entirely
during filming, with no pretty, stunt-doubles waiting off camera. Viewers
get to see a recipe from start to finish, and what you see is what we eat!
The Campfire Cafe serves up good food and good times! Cooking outdoors
is fun for everyone and this wholesome, entertaining show was developed
to promote family-oriented outdoor activity, while teaching new generations
a valuable life skill .... cooking!.
