Internationally Acclaimed American Glass Artist Dale Chihuly, widely hailed as the greatest glass artist of the 20th century, embarks on an unprecedented journey to the world's leading glass factories in this colorful homage to the Venetian glass tradition

Chihuly and his team travel from their studio in Seattle to the leading glass factories in Finland, Ireland and Mexico, collaborating with fellow artisans on the creation of magnificent sculptures. Their goal: to install monumental chandeliers throughout the city of Venice as part of the first international Biennale of Glass in September 1996. The result is a dazzling display of shimmering glass forms dangling from the bridges that span the romantic Grand Canal and gracing the city's grand architectural spaces.
